What being School Captain actually means
I thought it was about the badge. It is not about the badge. Being School Captain has taught me more about listening than speaking — which, if you know me, is saying something.
Based in Australia · Grade 7
Thirteen years old and already leaving a mark. I lead, I argue (and I win), I learn obsessively, and I firmly believe Tony Stark was right about everything. This is my corner of the internet — a living record of who I am and who I'm becoming.
About Me
I'm Kanav — 13 years old, currently serving as School Captain, and absolutely certain that the best version of any story involves someone who refuses to give up. Whether it's winning a debate, acing an exam, or finally beating that last boss level, I bring the same intensity to everything I do.
My friends know me as the kid who has a Marvel reference for every situation (they're not wrong). My teachers know me as someone who asks too many questions (they're also not wrong). I believe curiosity is a superpower — and I plan to use mine.
This website is my story — updated as I grow. Come back in a few years and watch how far this goes.
Core Skills
Track Record
A running log of wins, badges, and moments worth remembering.
( Kanav will keep adding to this as he grows. )
My School
Elected by peers and faculty to lead the student body. Responsible for representing students, organising events, and setting the tone for the year. One of the greatest honours so far.
Inter-school Debate Competition
First place in the annual inter-school debate. Topic: "Technology does more harm than good." I was on the opposition. I won, obviously. Words are my weapons.
Annual School Results
Ranked top of class across core subjects including Mathematics, Science, and English. High achievement is not luck — it is consistency, curiosity, and a refusal to stop at "good enough".
School MUN Conference
Awarded Best Delegate at the school Model United Nations for representing the committee with clarity, research, and confidence. Diplomacy is just debate with better suits.
Regional Quiz Competition
Won the regional general knowledge quiz bowl representing the school. Science, history, pop culture, Marvel — bring any category.
School Annual Day
Recognised for outstanding all-round performance in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. The beginning of many more to come.
What Makes Me, Me
From Iron Man to the Multiverse Saga — I have watched every film, read the source comics, tracked every Easter egg, and can hold an hour-long conversation on why Tony Stark is the GOAT. Marvel isn't just entertainment; it's a masterclass in storytelling, sacrifice, and what it means to be a hero.
Strategy, action, adventure — I play them all and I play them seriously. Gaming has taught me more about decision-making under pressure, pattern recognition, and creative problem-solving than any classroom. Also, my reaction time is genuinely superhuman at this point.
History, science, and anything that changes the way I see the world. Currently reading biographies of great leaders.
The art of constructing an argument, anticipating the counter, and making your case heard. A lifelong pursuit.
Physics, astronomy, the question of what lies beyond. The universe is the greatest story ever told.
Epic soundtracks, film scores, and the occasional banger. Hans Zimmer composed the soundtrack to my life.
Thoughts & Reflections
Ideas I'm thinking about. Lessons I'm learning. Arguments I'm building.
I thought it was about the badge. It is not about the badge. Being School Captain has taught me more about listening than speaking — which, if you know me, is saying something.
The moment you think you have won a debate is the moment you are most vulnerable. A reflection on preparation, anticipation, and staying calm when the other side makes a surprisingly good point.
An argument I have been building since I was eight. This is the definitive version. I will accept counterarguments in the comments, but I will rebut them.
I have tried everything from pomodoro to flashcards to ambient soundtracks. Here is what genuinely moved the needle, and what is just internet advice dressed up as science.
More entries coming soon — Kanav is still writing them.
